We’ve all been there, sitting in school having no clue what on earth the teacher is saying. The help is not helping and things are just not making any sense, I was no different. I created The Maths Lab to change that.

Becoming a math tutor was a natural progression for me, born out of a genuine passion for mathematics and a desire to share that passion with others. My journey began during my own academic pursuits, where I consistently found myself drawn to the intricacies of mathematical concepts and the thrill of problem-solving. As I progressed through my studies, I noticed peers struggling with similar topics and sought opportunities to help them understand and overcome their challenges. These informal tutoring sessions sparked a realisation within me – I had a talent for explaining complex mathematical ideas in a way that resonated with others. Motivated by the gratification of seeing my peers succeed, I decided to pursue formal tutoring roles, seeking out opportunities to share my knowledge and expertise with a broader audience.

I completed work as a primary school teaching assistant, then moving on to tutoring voluntarily at a secondary school. Over time the professional training has taught me a lot about curriculum development, time management, and understanding my students’ needs. My strong communication skills provide a nurturing and understanding environment that is fundamental for learning.
